I found this bridge on my very first trek into the New Forest and knew immediately I’d come back and shoot it.
As it happens, when I did come back, it was to shoot something entirely different, but I’ve learnt to trust my photographic instincts, which were screaming to stay and shoot this in the incredible golden hour light as the sun set.
Always looking for foreground interest to give depth in my photography, the only way I could include the near bank was by getting down as low as possible, so this photo was actually taken with me lying on my belly, thankful it was warm and dry, that I have an extremely flexible tripod, and that the cows weren’t feeling frisky that day!
Shooting Docken’s Bridge, lying on my belly with one eye on the shot and the other on the cows!
